Tuesday afteroon I saw the latest Batman movie, The Dark Knight, at a local theater. Pre-movie, I scoped out the trailer to Christian Bale's next no-doubt-blockbuster, the fourth Terminator movie (which means now there'll be two too many). I also sat awkwardly through the trailer for the upcoming movie adaptation of Alan Moore's Watchmen, directed by Zack Synder, who also directed the adaptation of Frank Miller's 300. While it does seem like it might make interesting watching, I still think some comic stories are best left on page. Watchmen deconstructed the superhero comic genre, the movie isn't going to do anything so bold. I can see it going over people's heads, that is, even if they do it justice. But hell, who am I kidding? I'll go see it. Sorry, Mr. Moore. Really, I am.

Question: What SNES RPG is the greatest video game of all time, and is being adapted for Nintendo DS this winter?
Can everyone please stop attacking Nicholson's Joker just because there's a new Joker in town? I know that Nicholson gets this reputation for "Jack playing Jack", but anyone who's ever picked up a Batman comic with the Joker in it in the past decade or so and has seen Nicholson's performance should see that he was pretty dead on: a psychotic, sadistic, egotistical mass murderer with a flair for the theatrical. Will the late Heath Ledger's performance in The Dark Knight surpass this? Maybe. Probably. I have a feeling that The Dark Knight is going to be the best Batman movie ever made, even better than the animated Mask of the Phantasm. Still, let's not deny how good Burton's original Batman movie was, and it's not just out of nostalgia. It was a great movie. Not perfect, but great. I like it more than Begins, even, if just a little.
Anyway, here's a comparison:
I'm getting pretty tired of these selfish parents who have six, seven children, when they cannot possibly provide or care for them all. These are the same heinous fuckwits who get touchy when you tell them that perhaps more judicious reproduction on their part might've saved society the burden of having to cradle their greasy American shit spawns. God forbid, anyone should act responsibly and reproduce only within their means. More to the point, god forbid anyone even mention that they're burdening society! Why, you'll be accused of fascism! Of trying to control another person's choices.
Fuck them. Beat them in public.
Find a cooler dogfight in an anime. Just try. You can't. This is the best one.
Why aren't you watching this right now? Right NOW.
Watch it. Right NOW.
Another thing occured to me as I thought about how bad the CE era programs of Gundam were. Despite being the targets of discrimination and possible genoicide, Coordinators are utterly unsympathetic.
Think about what a Coordinator is. No, let's think about what it is not. It isn't the same as a Newytpe. You can't MAKE a Newtype. Best you can do is an artificial Newtype ("Cyber-Newtype"), and they're usually unstable fuckwits like Four Murasame or Rosamia Badam. No, you can't make a Newtype. Newtypes are supposed to be the natural evolution of mankind. Coordinators may have increased spatial awareness at times, but they aren't the progression of mankind's evolution.
Lol, what the fuck? I don't remember being able to do shit like that in the games.
