Since Obama has taken office I have become sick. Sick of every ignorant motherfucker who feel the need to make some sort of play on Obama's campaign motto, "Change we can believe in," every time something arises to which they disagree with.
I can't seem to wrap my head around what these people represent. Are they Republicans who didn't pay attention to anything during the election other than party affiliation? Are they Democrats who spent the last few months in a magical fantasy land? Regardless of their affiliation they're apparently the most unqualified people to comment on the current political situation in the US.
Somewhere along the lines people must have gotten it into their head that Obama would force the government into a 180. That every element they disapproved of would suddenly be fixed overnight once Obama took office. Fools, the lot of you.
Any voter with a head on their shoulders knew that wouldn't happen. That change would be slow and gradual, met with many roadblocks. Take pork and earmarks for example. During his campaign Obama wanted to tighten the reigns and introduce new rules creating guidelines in the process to reduce wasteful spending. When the government has a long standing operating procedure no one can just take office and change everything immediately. It's something that takes time, planning, and debate.
Take the Iraq war. Unless you were stupid enough to swallow party lines for the duration of the campaign (Republican or Democrat) it was understood that Obama wouldn't pull all of the troops out immediately. Apparently working on a withdraw timeline with Iraqi leaders and military forces in the area wasn't good enough for many critics. "Change we can believe in" they said sarcastically. More accurately they should have said "change we don't understand."
Since becoming the 44th President of the United States Obama has made many decisions. Some of them are deviations from the past administration, some of them are not. That's not just change, that's smart thinking.
Our country is in a precarious position right now. Do the world a favor, cut out the stupid 'change dur hur hur' commentary. Everyone knew that Obama was going to take a moderate position with respect to his actions, no one expected radical change. Expect you, you who make these ignorant comments every chance you get. Grow up, read a book, form some sort of factual opinion. If you disagree with what's going on then take an active stance. Spouting bullshit is counter productive and only hurting our great country.
