Comments:

For some reason, when I watched this episode the first time with the dub, on Adult Swim, I absolutely loathed the job done on it. But when I rewatched it, it sounded a lot better for some reason. I may have to make a habit of that.

I know it'll seem like I'm beating a dead horse, but seriously, Envy has the worst voice in the entire dub, and it's the only returning voice that has actually gotten worse. You don't get the sense of sadistic glee out of Powell's Envy you do with the Japanese VA. In fact, most of the time he just sounds like he's just pissed off that his throat is sore.

I really prefer Brice Armstrong's Marcoh over the new guy, but I don't think he does a terrible job, just not as good a job as Armstrong. He definitely sounds as Marcoh might, very weathered and kind of feeble-seeming. Very downtrodden, the way Marcoh is through most of the series.

As for Pride, come on. Like they couldn't have made it any more obvious who the identity of Pride is with how they approach the voice and effect. At the same time, the scene with him is pretty well done, as far as the script. I even liked Ed Blaylock's Bradley for a short time in this episode, though he's no Shibata.

I've liked Ling's voice so far and he's gotten even better with time. He's doing a great job in this episode, as well as the voice of Ranfan. Whitehead's Alphonse Elric and Willingham's Mustang are still excellent. I'm even liking the voice of Knox.

What is with the wooden voice of Mrs. Bradley? God is she terrible-sounding. Did Funimation just cast a secretary or something? I know she's a very minor role, but jeez.

General Raven's voice... well, let's just say I'll be glad when he visits Olivier.

Overall ENGLISH DUB Score: 3.5 out of 5
