Gundam AGE Episode 04 Review

Episode 04, "The White Wolf"

*****SPOILERS*****

Synopsis:  Mobile suit ace Woolf Enneacle awakens on the Diva and is assigned as the head of mobile suit forces on the crew. He desires to pilot Flit's Gundam, but Flit objects. The two decide to have a duel contest to see who's a more fit pilot. The two are attacked by the UE and team up to escape. The UE's cloaking technology leads Grodek Aiona to the knowledge of who they really are.

Voice Actor Comparison: Gundam - Char Aznable

Original Video - More videos at TinyPic My pick: Shuichi Ikeda Reasoning: Ikeda clearly does the most arresting, charismatic-sounding Char, a Char that fits every facet of his complex personality. Michael Kopsa is my favorite English dub Char, sounding noticably serious and determined, but with a touch of charm. Blum makes him sound a little too laid back and his delivery is way off in that particular dub and Edwards just sounds generic and has a wooden delivery. This isn't just some guy, it's Char Aznable! Well, at least Edwards is one of the more tolerable cast members of that terrible Zeta Gundam dub. Breakdown: Ikeda > Kopsa > Blum > Edwards

Anime Classics - Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack

Yoshiyuki Tomino isn't for everyone. The anime director and creator of the Gundam franchise is a bit of an odd duck. It's hard to get a good snapshot of his personality, both in direction and in life. I'm guessing that a lot of this has to do with his long history in the business. After a while, a guy's got to get tired of answering the same five or six questions about the same thing, no matter how much they've prospered from it. Then there's his style of directing, wherein he refuses to hold the hand of the viewer. A plot may be pretty straight forward, but his approach to it in directing may leave some scratching their heads.
