*****SPOILERS*****
Synopsis: Having impaled Kuririn on one of his horns, Freeza tosses the earthling into the water. Gohan attacks in a rage, surprising and overwhelming Freeza. Dende retrieves the still alive, but badly hurt, Kuririn. Generally unharmed, Freeza raises his power and attacks Gohan. Vegeta takes the opportunity to attack Freeza, but it doesn't harm him. Freeza goes back to Gohan, dealing him blow after blow. Suddenly, one of Kuririn's Kienzan attacks hits Freeza, cutting off the end of his tail. Healed, Kuririn continues his attack, distracting Freeza so that Dende (who has healing powers) can restore Gohan's health as well. Before Freeza can figure out what's happening, Piccolo arrives, more powerful than ever, and determined to take on Freeza himself.
Comments:
Dende is the "healer" of the RPG group, which should come in handy when Attack of the Saiyans has a sequel (if you haven't got this game, do so, it's awesome). I've barely noticed that it's Aya Hirano in the role in the past few episodes, which means she's doing a good enough job fitting into the character, rather than just being "Haruhi as Dende" or "Konata as Dende". She's being Dende. Stunt casting or not, she's a good Dende.
Gohan is arguably the star of the episode, doling out some major punishment on Freeza for impaling Kuririn. Although, it remains pretty meaningless, but at least it shows that he's trying, and not standing around just reacting to things. Even Freeza admits that some of it even hurt. That's about as far as any of them has gotten in the battle. I remember having to endure Stephanie Naldony's awful performance in the dub, especially in this part, and hope that Colleen Clinkenbeard does a better job.
Finally, Piccolo has finally arrived, and we begin a very pointless battle which will take up the entire next episode. Well, at least Piccolo looks like he's relevant again for a while.
