Listen here, you fucking degenerates. I know what you're doing, indulging in every act of debauchery and overindulgence this holiday season. So maybe you can take the time, while you're not boozing it up with your good time gang or drowning your sorrows in a full store-bought pie, to watch my little (half hour) video about my top 10 favorite anime characters. I can already feel the bile rising in my throat as I picture all the amazing fun you're having NOT contributing to my Patreon or subscribing to my channel and it sickens me to the core. So sit down, shake off that eggnog high, and watch this video, damn it, I worked really hard on it!
I always have a certain level of fun creating the Christmas episodes, even when I get a touch of seasonal depression myself. Normally, I really enjoy the holidays, at least initially, but when other people around me aren't keeping up to my level of excitement, it bums me out. It figures, the one time of year I put aside most of my cynicism (most, not all) is when some people decide to get pouty. But then, as a shut-in, I don't have to deal with a lot of things other people do, so who am I to judge? As of this description writing, I'm pretty okay, chilling and playing Christmas music. Christmas is next week, so let's hope I can keep up the positive vibes.
Who am I kidding? I wouldn't be me if I couldn't bitch about something. You can enjoy the season and still have gripes. Nothing is absolute.
My annual Christmas episode has it all, atmosphere, a framing device, a variety of different anime, some Christmas music, and... that's everything, right? There's nothing else to be had? I guess some gratuitous sex would be nice, but I'm anime reviewer, so that's not likely to happen to me. But I do get to cover some Lupin III (again), Vandread (again), and Azumanga Daioh (!!!). Enjoy the video, folks. It took me a long while to do.
For those who've been following the show, my Christmas episodes are usually the videos I put the most effort into. This year, lacking a single, sufficiently Christmas-y anime to review itself, I decided to pick a few episodes of different anime that take place on and/or around Christmas. Lupin The Third, Case Closed, and Super Dimensional Fortress Macross are the subject of my holiday hand wringing. Don't forget to check out the new Lucky Squid Studios commercial included!
Have happy holidays, as long as they're ones that I celebrate! Like the Feast of Maximum Occupancy.
