I’m not entirely sure why I agreed to review Day of Sigma to begin with. Somebody suggested it in my comments and I just kind of thought, “Yeah, why not?” Maybe it’s because I owe so much to the Mega Man franchise, with my edited sprites. But I could have chosen a better representative than this half hour game prologue, couldn’t I? I mean, it’s not bad, it’s actually kind of fun, but it’s so short, there’s not much to say about it. It’s not exactly awash with themes and profundity, now is it? It’s just a small little trifle.
But hey, at least I got to pad the shit out of the video with my lame storyline material! Well, the beginning bit is just me fanboying over the Granada TV Sherlock Holmes TV series from the 80s and 90s (that I recently bought the second season of on Blu-Ray after having watched much of the series on Prime Video). It stars the late, great Jeremy Brett as Holmes, and had two Watsons, as Pen Pen points out.
The stuff at the end continues my Voidmancer storyline, as we see that the “shadow wrangler” himself knows and has worked in the past with Ravex, as they meet in a diner to confer on the matter of “those penguin people”. I had this diner background made from pieces of a couple of different existing backgrounds and modified them to the current state. I was desperate to use it and thought it would be fun if our villains met there. Conversations during eating can be quite illuminating, you know.
My birthday is on August 1, so this is kind of my birthday video this year. I guess it makes sense.
