Samurai 7 Benigumo Review

Behold, the massive statue that is a Benigumo from the anime series Samurai 7. There are several Benigumo models in the series but only one received retail treatment. The figure from Organic is made of resin, comes pre-painted, and retails for ¥98,000. Roughly $1,200 USD (not including shipping from Japan). Oh, and only 150 were made.

The design may remind you a little bit of The O or the Bound Doc from Zeta Gundam. They share the same designer, Makoto Kobayashi. His Benigumo designs are one of the show’s few saving graces. read more

Dragon Ball Kai – Episode 88 Review

Episode 88, "The Decisive Battle! Cell vs Son Goku"

Synopsis: Mr. Satan reels from being thrown from the ring, claiming to have been tripped. Goku steps into the ring and faces off with Cell. Goku attacks, and Cell evades, blocks, and counters. Gohan claims his father isn’t using his real power. Goku powers up, causing his allies to be astonished. Cell powers up as well. They begin the battle again. Cell claims that he’s enjoying himself. Then he splits into four, a technique of Tenshinhan’s. He also uses Makankosappo, Kienzan, and even Kamehameha. Goku uses Shikan Ido to avoid being hit. Cell’s speed frustrates Goku. read more

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood – Episode 33 ENGLISH DUB Review

Episode 33, " The Northern Wall Of Briggs"

Synopsis: Kimbley continues to track Scar and Marcoh, leading him North. When he finds Scar, it’s not Marcoh with him, but Yoki: Marcoh and Mei aren’t with him. After a short fight, Kimbley is pinned to the back of a train car with a metal pipe, but Kimbley destroys the back of the train and gets away. Edward and Alphonse, meanwhile, have made their way to the Briggs mountains and encounter Major General Olivier Mira Armstrong, Alex Louis Armstrong’s sister, and the commander in charge of the Briggs fortress. Reluctantly, she bids them entry. In another part of the mountains, Marcoh and Mei reach the spot where Scar hid his brother’s notes and uncover them. read more

Dragon Ball Kai – Episode 86 Review

Episode 86, "A New God! The Dragonballs are Finally Revived"


*****SPOILERS*****

Synopsis: Goku wakes Kaio from his nap. He explains the situation on Earth and asks for him to find the Namekians. Kaio searches and finds their general direction. Goku concentrates on the direction, detecting the Namekians’ ki, then teleports to their new planet. There he meets Mouri, now the new Saichoro. Goku requests one of them come back to Earth with him and Mouri suggests Dende. The two teleport back to Kami’s palace. At the Kame House, a martial artist named Mr. Satan declares his intention to beat Cell on television, insisting that Cell is just using tricks. Goku teleports in and teleports back to Kami’s palace with Gohan and Kuririn, who are happy to see Dende again. Dende says that it will take 100 days to make new Dragon Balls. Popo produces a model of Shenron so the Dragon Balls can be revived immediately. Dende revives the Dragon Balls, which shine again. Everybody wonders about Goku’s casual attitude. Goku visits Bulma to get the Dragon Radar, then goes off to gather the Dragon Balls. Time passes and the day of the Cell Games finally arrives (with Cell being bored). On the day of the fight, Goku teleports to Kami’s palace to get Gohan and the others (but Vegeta went off on his own). They all fly off to face Cell. read more

Dragon Ball Kai – Episode 85 Review

Episode 85, "An Interrupted Rest! The Self-Defense Army Launches a General Offensive Against Cell"

Synopsis: Cell flies into space and destroys a giant meteor, causing meteorites to fall onto Earth. Goku, Gohan, and Kuririn relax by a stream in their Super Saiyan forms. Kuririn apologizes for not destroying Artificial Human 18, thus letting Cell reach his Perfect Form, but Goku is glad to be able to fight somebody powerful. Kuririn is amazed at how relaxed Goku is. Piccolo emerges from the Room of Spirit and Time and Vegeta goes in. The King of the World announces a military deployment to fight Cell as Bulma examines Artificial Human 16. Chi-Chi sets up a picnic lunch for Goku, Gohan, and Kuririn as Goku assures them everything will work out. The world military launches an attack on Cell, which is completely worthless. Cell easily destroys their forces. Goku teleports to Kami’s palace wanting to revive the Dragon Balls to bring the soldiers back to life. He figures that he can go find a new Kami among the Namekians, but he can’t detect any similar ki to Piccolo’s, so he decides he’ll go consult Kaio. The King of the World announces the failure of the military and hopes somebody will come and save them like the boy who saved them from Piccolo Daimao years earlier. read more

Dragon Ball Kai – Episode 84 Review

Episode 84, "Training Completed! Does Goku have the Composure to Defeat Cell?!"

Synopsis: People panic over Cell’s announcement and cities evacuate. Kuririn blames himself for the current situation and tries to go fight Cell, but Roshi forbids him. At Kami’s palace, Goku and Gohan emerge from the Room of Spirit and Time, both in their Super Saiyan forms. Bulma discovers that Artificial Human 16 was built soley to kill Goku, but her father assures him that his true nature is gentle. After being caught up on current events, Goku changes back into his usual gi. Piccolo gives Gohan clothing like his. Goku teleports over to Cell in his arena. The two exchange some words and stare each other down. He teleports away. Goku admits he’s not sure he can win, but turns down the opportunity to go in again. He says that he and Gohan are done. Everyone is surprised. Goku and Gohan take off, but stop by Karin’s place. Goku asks Karin to gauge his power and compare it to Cell’s. He powers up, then settles down, saying it’s about half of his energy. Karin says that Cell is still likely more powerful. Goku isn’t surprised or concerned and the two teleport away, leaving Karin to wonder. They appear on Kame Island to get Chi-Chi, who is shocked when she sees her son, thinking he dyed his hair. read more

Episode 32, "The Führer President’s Son"

Synopsis: Edward and Alphonse continue looking for Mei and Xaio Mei, but have no luck. Kimbley tracks the movements of Scar and Marcoh, going to the West HQ to investigate. Grumman, in drag, arrives in Central and talks to Mustang at Hughes’ grave. He reveals that he was approached once by General Raven about an "immortal army", but dismissed it and was transferred. The brothers go to the library to research Xingese alchemy. Edward is told by Major Armstrong that Mei was seen headed North, and gives him a letter of introduction to go to the Briggs base, where Major General Armstrong is stationed. Alphonse is approached by Selim Bradley, who is excited to meet the brothers. After a misunderstanding, Ed and Al end up talking to Mrs. Bradley at the presidential house, where King Bradley himself arrives for a short time. After their discussion, Ed and Al hurry off to go north. read more

Dragon Ball Kai – Episode 83 Review

Episode 83, "The Television’s Been Hijacked! A Live Broadcast of the Cell Games Press Conference"

Synopsis: Vegeta and Kuririn arrive where Trunks is and he explains what happened. Trunks expresses his desire to return to the Room of Spirit and Time to train again. Vegeta says that it’s not necessary, as after he uses it, he will settle things. Artificial Human 16 wants to take part in Cell’s tournament as well, and requests to be taken to the Capsule Corporation for repairs. Kuririn agrees to this, despite Trunks’ objection. In the Room of Spirit and Time, Goku and Gohan intensify their training in their Super Saiyan forms. Vegeta, Trunks, Kuririn, and 16 arrive at Capsule Corp. Shortly after, Roshi, Chi-Chi, Yamucha, Oolong, Chaozu, and Puar arrive as well. Trunks again explains Cell’s idea. Roshi explains what the Tenkaichi Budoukai was like. Cell creates his tournament ring in a flat area of land. Dr. Brief has difficulty figuring out 16’s structure. Bulma soon arrives, happy that her son from the future is unharmed. Cell takes over a news studio and announces his intentions. He will take on all comers and abide by the tournament rules, with the exception that he will be the only opponent for participants. He claims that if he cannot be beat, he will kill every last person in the world. Then Cell flies off. read more
