After the Cel Shading – One Punch Man – Trim Engaging Spectacle [REVIEW]
Imagine if you will that you’re the strongest person in the world. You got there by rigorous training regimens that pushed you to your limits. The raw power of your attacks against the forces of evil put everybody into shock and awe, and you even have the magisterial JAM Project singing your opening theme before each big adventure. You should be somebody who’s living on Cloud 9…
…But then again you’re so bald as a result of the training and every enemy you fight can be ended with a well-placed fist. Worse, that really REALLY irks you. Even worse, nobody don’t give you no respect. C’est le One Punch Man, the latest anime adaptation of a popular manga that hits its stride without missing any beats before it stumbles at the finish line. Even so, it brings in enough to enjoy that one can briskly watch all twelve episodes and be endeared the way through.

Synopsis (Spoiler Free):

Mom blames manga, library, for putting her son into “home for extensive therapy”
Looks like ignorant, irresponsible, parents are at it again…
A Japanese serial graphic novel genre popular with young teens has raised the ire of a Crestview mother whose teenage son got hold of an adult version of the genre from the Crestview Public Library. “Manga” depicts highly stylized adventure and, occasionally, violence in fantasy settings.
Margaret Barbaree, founder of a citizens’ group called Protect Our Children, presented examples from a manga book to the Crestview City Council Monday evening that she described as “graphic” and “shocking,” taken from material she said is “available to children” at the Crestview Public Library. Nothing makes me want to stab an innocent bunny like outcry from a group called Protect Our Children. Do us all a favor and actually raise your own children and leave everyone else alone. You’re responsible for the development of your child and his understanding of the world around him. If some lousy manga is going to push him over the edge it’s safe to say you’ve failed at your job of being a parent. Imagine what would’ve happened had he read American Psycho or bothered to read up on human history. As for the manga he was reading? Robot 6 @ Comic Book Resources reported that Barbaree mentioned the comics, "The Naked Suicide Girl," and, "Psychic Academy." Psychic Academy is mundane. Skimming through the first volume, there’s some definite fan service, but no real violence or nudity. At it’s worst, near the end, the main character trips into his love interest, only to accidentally cop a feel. Terrible, just terrible. Every measure should be taken to prevent young boys from encountering any knowledge of sexuality.
Fullmetal Alchemist Chapter 108 (END) (SPOILERS)
My thoughts on Fullmetal Alchemist chapter 108 (THE END):
One hundred and eight chapters of Hiromu Arakawa’s fantasy-action-drama. Nine years of it. Granted, I haven’t been following it for nine years (more like six), but I feel like I’ve invested quite a bit of time reading, discussing, debating, arguing, ranting, raving, theorizing, fankwanking, reviewing, and spriting the characters, storylines, and mysteries of this epic tale of two brothers looking to get back what they lost in a terrible mistake, guided by the principal they had so tragically ignored.
