Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Episode 2 – G-Chekketsu yourself before you G-Rekketsu yourself.

Solanum Lycopersicum Callipyge

Like the lumbering skeleton-framed Gundam Barbatos, the series begins its purposeful lurch forward. You can tell by its lurch (despite the exciting, electric, “Raise Your Flag” opening), in the way the battle between the Barbatos and Gjallarhorn squad quickly concludes and focuses on world building. The more interesting thing about this is that there’s no narrator this time around (it’s kindof a thing in Gundam) to get us going about the world. Every little story element that is shown and told is done by any and all characters present, thus allowing us maximum engagement in the world and its characters. Like the mobile suit, the story is piecing itself together into a more cohesive, dynamic, whole. read more

Gundam: The Origin I PV

I want- nay, need- this in my life. They even have Mayumi Tanaka (Kuririn and Monkey D. Luffy) as the younger Red Comet. I just hope it’s not as expensive as Unicorn (still don’t have the final two volumes, might not ever).

“UNIVERSE!”: Gundam Has The Right Stuf (Or Does It?)

"Yeah… something like this." – The Right Stuf

In a startling announcement Saturday, online anime super store and part time anime distributor/licensor, The Right Stuf, revealed they will be releasing the most successful mecha anime franchise, Gundam, in North America. While the exact formats of this wide-ranging release of the long-running, storied franchise is yet undetermined, it has been divulged that the first releases will be the original 1979 Mobile Suit Gundam television series (previous licensed by the defunct Bandai Entertainment, and now long out of print) and 1999’s Turn A Gundam, previously unlicensed for the North American market. Also of note is their intention to furthermore release 1986’s Mobile Suit Gundam Double Zeta (or Gundam ZZ) at some point in the near future, as well as Sunrise’s adaptation of the Gundam: The Origin manga, which is still in production, and will be dubbed in English by NYAV Post. A license for the newest running TV series, Reconguista in G, is still in the works. read more

Gundam: Reconguista in G Trailer

I still can’t get a good grip on this yet. I might have to wait for at least the first few episodes. It’s Tomino, so t can go right or really, really wrong. Also, the G-Serufu looks like Gundam Exia by way of Victory Gundam. It’s like the TOMY version of Exia. Should I review it for my blog or what? (How do you pronounce the title, even?)
