The sewers are creepy, Jason is cheeky, and a toy shop is freaky in the eighteenth entry in DC’s weekly Batman series. Jason talks Babs up as she falls into a trap, things get tense in Blackgate, we find out what happened to Killer Croc after Arkham War, and Batman is actually a character in this book again! What a week. Too bad the art is kind of… ehhh. Middling. It varies from page to page.
Vampire Hero hasn’t been the same since the New 52 reboot.
We see that Killer Croc’s life has been rough ever since his defeat at the hands of Bane during Arkham War. Apparently his friends in the underground have been disappearing or turning up dead (it likely has to do with the Deacon Blackfire cult) and of course the police and public in general are quick to blame him, Jason Bard included. As well-meaning as Bard might be, he’s not used to handling guys like Croc, and though he’s a longtime enemy, Batman at least somewhat sympathizes with his general situation. The question is, what the hell is that thing in the shadows following Batman, Bard, and Croc? It looks like the stuff of scream yourself awake nightmares. At least if the group runs into something that requires a lot of brute force to resolve, they have Croc on their team. I think.
How’s my microphone working out? I know I need to work on audio mixing.
Sorry, Seabook’s sister looks like Sailor JUPITER, not PLUTO. What the hell was I thinking? I watched that series!

Last night, yours truly made a truly momentous decision. One that affected both his head and heart. Or really, my wallet, because my decision was to spend $10.50 to watch a movie I’d already seen, plus the bullshit price of impulse buy concessions, because like any American, I can’t even go an hour and a half without stuffing my face with butter and salt and washing it down with sugar water. The next time the person at the concession stand tells you that for fifty more cents you can get the large popcorn, you spit in their face and karate chop them in the throat, folks. An ocean of popcorn will just make you never want to see that snack ever again. There’s not enough napkins in the world to wipe that butter from your hands, it’s like digging into a fresh corpse and soaking yourself in a gaping bloody wound of…
Neither will be appearing in this issue!
Corrigan is trapped, a monkey is zapped, and Batman’s old scrap in week 17 of DC’s weekly Batman book, Batman Eternal. Even the combined efforts of Jim Corrigan and Batwing are no match for Deacon Blackfire and The Spectre doesn’t seem to want to appear, while in Japan, Tim Drake and Harper Row try intimidating one of Batman’s old teachers, and the only time we see the titular character is in a flashback to a storyline from decades before the New 52. Really, there’s not a lot actually going on here, but let’s see if I can dig something out, anyway!
Happy birthday to meeeee… *sob*. Seriously, though, watch this movie.
There’s mysterious ghouls, Harper breaks a rule, Joker’s Daughter is cruel, and a villain’s renewal in this sixteenth issue of DC’s weekly Batman epic, which, as usual, has very little actual Batman. In fact, for the second week in a row, it’s mostly the adventures of Jon Corrigan and… uh… whatshisface. You know. Batman Beyond. No, that isn’t Batman Beyond? Oh. Uh… you know, Lucius Fox’s kid, Batborg, I think. Really, who gives a damn? He’s fairly irrelevant, save for his fight with Maxie Zeus.
Otaku Evolution Episode 12 – InuYasha… by ellbell01
I originally had this on YT, but I got a notice, so I had to move it. For some reason, Part 1 was never given notice. Seriously, it’s just a fucking review. Calm down, Bandai, you pack of cunts. Even Viz didn’t copyright fuck me, and they own the rights over here. Don’t be those guys. And seriously, the label the band Europe belongs to flagged me, too? How does Bennett the Sage get his stuff on YT and never get messed with?
Arkham’s extra spooky, Tim flies to the home of kabuki, and a plastic surgeon’s in deep dookie. In this fifteenth installment of DC’s Batman weekly, our team of writers break out supernatural elements I’m not used to reading about in Batman titles, but Dustin Nguyen’s art suits well. It’s too bad a lot of it involves Batwing, a character I can’t even remember half the time exists. As usual, there’s very little actual Batman in this Batman weekly. I guess he’s too busy cracking that drug ring in ‘Tec, or hunting down Ra’s al Ghul in Batman &. But at least we have plenty of… uh, Jim Corrigan, I guess.
Aldnoah.Zero is a new mecha anime series from studio A-1 Pictures. Gen Urobuchi is credited with creating the concept while Ei Aoki is directing and Hiroyuki Sawano composing music.
Aldnoah.Zero is set in an alternate universe where Apollo 17 astronauts, while exploring the moon (in AZ 1972), found some mysterious alien technology. The tech turned out to be hypergate to Mars, and before you know it, folks started to colonize the planet. The colonists eventually stumbled on more alien technology and decided to separate themselves from Earth, calling themselves the Vers Empire. They would later declare war on the Earth. During this war a large battle was waged on the Earth’s moon (in AZ 1999) resulting in the destruction of the hypergate in an explosion that blew apart a large chunk of the moon. The Vers Empire folks, stranded around Earth, would go on to build space castles amongst the floating moon debris. A tentative cease fire existing between the Empire and Earth.
