FMA 2 Dub Cast Announced (Sorta)

So, the cast for Funimation's Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood dub has been revealed. Or, at least, some of it. Here's my commentary on it: Vic Mignogna as Edward Elric Comment: I'm not surprised, but I'm not happy. Vic will continue to gain popularity based on a mediocre effort that pales in comparison to the Japanese voice. Well, I can at least hope he's better this time around, because last time it he was just lousy. Maxey Whitehead as Alphonse Elric Comment: They replaced the best performer in the first dub, Aaron Dismuke (ostensibly because he went through puberty, and thus his voice changed), with a relative newcomer. This is particularly upsetting, since I feel that even now, Dismuke will still be capable of handling Alphonse, who is a little older-seeming and wiser in the new series, anyway. But, I'll give Whitehead a chance. Travis Willingham as Roy Mustang Comment: Another non-surprise. Willingham's Roy is at least better than Mignogna's Edward, but that's not saying a lot. He's still not near as good as either Japanese VAs for the role. But maybe with some better direction (doubtful), he can capture more than one facet of Roy's personality this time. J. Michael Tatum as Scar Comment: Wait, what's this? Scar is different? Scar is different! Oh, thank you, thank you! I could not stand another momenet of Dameon Clarke as Scar! This guy better not sound as generic a villain as Dameon Clarke made Scar sound. Brina Palencia as Nina Tucker Comment: "WITTLE BWIG BWATHA!" again? At least she's only in one episode this time. Caitlin Glass as Winry Rockbell Comment: Catlin Glass is ear-splittingly terrible. Her name is appropriate, because her shrill shrieks could actually shatter glass. Winry is annoying, but not that annoying. Chris Patton as Greed Comment: I hope somebody at least wakes Patton up during the recordings, maybe giving him some sort of energy drink, so he doesn't sound dull and flat like the last time. Who am I kidding? Patton drains the life out of every role he's ever played. And they continue to cast him as my favorite FMA character of all time. Thanks, Funimation. Chris Sabat as Alex Louis Armstrong

Comment: Well, at least Sabat is returning to the only role his voice is actually suited for. It's hard to imagine anyone else's voice as Armstrong in the English dub. I think that's a good sign. Good for him.

Gwendolyn Lau as Sciezka Comment: Here's another voice I'll actually be glad to hear again. Lau is a great Sheska. It's a shame Sheska gets such a small part in the new series. I think she might be one of my favorite characters. Sonny Strait as Maes Hughes Comment: Okay, he's all right as Hughes. I'm not surprised they brought him back, either. Let's hope he gets some better directing, but I doubt it. Aaron Dismuke as ??? Comment: Apparently, Dismuke will be playing some sort of minor role in the series, but it hasn't been revealed. Ling, perhaps? Pride? Barry the Chopper? Who knows. It should be Alphonse, damn it! Well, at least he'll be in it. Other: For some reason, they haven't cast Izumi Curtis yet, but they have cast Sig. Who cares who voices Sig? Tell me you've got Christine Auten again to voice Izumi! Also, bring back Brice Armstrong as Marcoh! At least bring back some of the actual good performers of the first dub!
