Help out OR: Fund Drive 2010

As some of you may know I sell some of my photographs online to help fund my expensive gunpla addiction. While every purchase helps the site out a little it’s time to put that money back in directly.

50% of all proceeds, through the end of November, will be sent directly to Mike (aka Penguin Truth).

DX Chogokin x Robot Damashii König Monster Review

I got this incredibly expensive fucker in the mail today. I was worried I was going to be horribly let down but for the most part it’s incredibly impressive.

** Note – I have a terrible headache right now, so chances are this article is (even more so) poorly written and full of typos. My apologies. **

There are a few things I don’t like about it, and a few ‘wait, wha?’ bits. But first, pictures!

Gundam 00 Movie – New PV

There’s a new PV just starting to make the rounds for the new Gundam 00 movie, A wakening of the Trailblazer. It seems a bit early for one, but who cares, this trailer is 100x more exciting than the previous releases I’ve seen.

Iron Man Anime Episode 01 Review

American comic studio Marvel has teamed up Japanese anime production company Madhouse (Trigun, Paranoia Agent, Death Note, and Record of Lodoss War) to produce a 12 episode Iron Man anime miniseries. Unfortunately for them the series hasn’t generated much hype and the first episode is unlikely to win anyone over. Minor spoilers abound.

The Synopsis

The first episode of Iron Man seemingly laid the plot out for the entire series. It starts off with Tony Stark flying into Japan via personal jet with all the careful planning and gracefulness of a wayward bullet. He’s in town to flirt with the women, enjoy the food, and oversee the construction of Japan’s first arc reactor. What better place to start fulfilling his dream of world peace via free energy then a country that won’t use it for war? (No, really, that’s what they said. What a nice underhanded compliment.) read more

Full Armor Unicorn Prototype Ver. Introduction

A while back I set into motion a rather ambitious project. A third MG Unicorn themed off of the Full Armor version.

It’s not going to have all of the bells and whistles though. It’ll be toned down a little bit, but should be impressive none the less. It’ll also feature a four toned paint job (white, light gray, gray, dark gray) and a brilliant metalic green for the psycho frame.

Here are some early shots. Depending on my workload this week I’d like to get the legs done and start prepping the backpack. I’ve already figured how I’m going to mount the cannons and I can’t wait to see if it actually works. read more

Behold, the kit that got things rolling again…

This kit was a load of firsts. It was the first kit I painted, the first time I used an air brush, the first time I weathered, and the first time I used water slide decals.

Painting and using an airbrush for the first time turned out better than expected. The paint went on easily and looks fantastic. If you look closely you can see that in my naivety the coverage is down right terrible. Luckily, on this kit, I was able to pull it off. With the weathering it looks natural. It just goes to show that sometimes you just get lucky. read more
