Bandai MG Victory Gundam Ver. Ka Review

Welcome to my review of Bandai’s Master Grade Victory Gundam, Ver. Ka. Since this isn’t a straight build I’ve broken up my review into two segments. The first talking about the kit itself and the second a review of my design and paint choices.

Note that for some images in my review I use images from dalong.net’s review. Let’s just say I’m too frustrated/lazy to transform and photograph.

The Kit

The Victory Gundam is one of my favorite Gundams from a design perspective. To me its simple design and functionality are more aesthetic than anything from SEED or 00. read more

Layman’s Gunpla Guide – Paint Review

[working] Under Construction

Over the course of my kits I’ve used many different paints, with varying levels of success. To save everyone the trouble of my trials I thought I’d create a list of some of the more notable paints I’ve used and how I’ve fared with them.

Your own experiences may differ from mine, hopefully for the better due to my own incompetence. If I’m doing something wrong please don’t hesitate to give me some tips.

Layman’s Gunpla Guide – Detailing Equipment

The most popular way to make your kit look its best is to paint its detail lines. Some people think kits look best with out them while others think they look best when done in heavy black. The popular consensus however is that you should line with a color and darkness relating to the plastic you’re working on. For example, when lining on white use a light gray. For medium colors try a darker gray, and on dark or somethings vibrant colors use a black. If you’re lining with paint try to mix in portions of the base color for a subtle effect. Remember to try different things and go with what you think looks best. read more

The Otaku Revolution Awards

The Otaku Revolution Awards

I’ve been meaning to get to this and I’m as late as your sister’s period during that scare I had with her.

2010: the future! A time when flying cars fill the air and radioactive mutants are battled with by humanoid-shaped, bipedal fighter robots under a supernova sun as Europe’s "The Final Countdown"—the only surviving single of the Great Eugenic Wars of the 80s—blares from speakers on either side of your cyronic capsule as you awake to inevitable nuclear oblivion. What a world of wonder and horror!
