The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya – Episode 19 Review

Episode 19, "Endless Eight (Part 4)"

*****SPOILERS*****

Synopsis: The exact same fucking thing that happened last episode, with different angles. (!!!)

Comments:

I don’t really know what to say at this point. Should I be angry? I was, at first. I was pretty pissed that Kyoto Animation really not only continued a storyline that should have been wrapped up in a single episode, two at the most, yet again. I mean, really, four episodes, and it’s still not over. This is either the best trolling ever, or these folks are being held hostage and are trying to call for help. Having watched this a second time, I no longer feel this anger. read more

Despite a congratulations from Yajirobe, Goku isn’t relieved yet, knowing Vegeta will return. Vegeta looks for the moon so that he might transform into an Oozaru (Giant Ape), but when he can’t find it (Piccolo destroyed it previously), he decides to create an artificial moon with his ki. He transforms and menaces Goku, who can’t concentrate long enough to form a Genki Dama. read more

FMA Primer #2

FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST: BROTHERHOOD: CHAPTER 2

The new "chapter" of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood starts next week, with the advent of the Xingese characters, so here’s a little primer/reminder. I covered most of this in my first primer, mind you, but I wanted to approach the characters again, a little differently in some cases.

Xing is a country in the East, where Rentanjutsu (Funimation subs it as "alkahestry", after "alkahest", an alchemy term), an alchemy used for medical application, is practiced, passed down from a Sage from the West. Xing lies beyond the Great Desert, to the east of what was once Ishbal (which itself is east of Amestris proper, where most of the story takes place). Xing is ruled by an Emperor, who controls the many clans of the country. read more
