Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Episode 10 – Tekkadan confirmed for Famsexual

Sadly, when those two ships ventured off into the distance last time, it is revealed in this week’s opening scenes that Mika stayed behind on Saisei so he can help with finishing the Barbatos’s repairs. The result is that most of the character development is relegated to Orga and the supporting cast for the duration. However, after the coldness of the last episode, the emotional core that beats throughout this week’s adventure is more than welcome.

And boy does it beat heavily. read more

Batman & Robin Eternal #8 Review

Mother, do you think they’ll drop the Bat?

Things get blacker, as the ballerina attackers aren’t performing Nutcracker, but Tim and Jason aren’t slackers, as they’re trackers of Mother’s backers. All of this and a hint of avenging angels to come in the eighth issue of DC’s weekly Batman escapade. Dick comes face to face with Mother herself, who claims to have created a Robin for Batman, and won’t reveal which one. Harper teams up with Cassandra, some assassins have caring mamas who will bonk you on the head if you kick their baby’s ass, and two Robins take the pulpit as the story drags, but at least it’s pretty focused. read more

Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Episode 9 – Pit Stop on the Road to Renewed Strength and Promise

No more ouzo for Orga.

To our eternal benefit the episode lingers at Saisei for the entire runtime. To our eternal detriment the episode… quite frankly it is not known yet how detrimental the plot development will be to our heroes. This is rather exciting territory for a Gundam series, as the criminal underworld in a show about giant aesthetically pleasing robots is an idea that has been flirted with but never expanded upon. Now, the show is no longer just about war as seen from the underclass, but war as seen from the underworld. read more

Batman & Robin Eternal #7 Review

Why does Cass look completely out of her element here? She’s a ninja girl! Throwing stars are like snowflakes to her!

While Dick’s away, Tim and Jason play, there’s a deadly ballet, and there’s a bit of LesYay, all in this tip-toeing issue that’ll make you plié. It’s the seventh issue of the globe-trotting second Batman weekly trek from DC Comics. The Prague Batcave is full of bones, the dive bar Tim and Jason visit is full of scumbags, and the Prague Ballet is full of secret asassins (and at least one Mother). I’m shipping Harper/Cass now, but let’s get to that later, there’s a story to follow! read more

Elyn Hobby 1/100 Kshatriya – Complete

Welcome to my end-of-build write up for the 1/100 Elyn Hobby Kshatriya. I’m going to spend quite a bit of time talking about the kit and the build so if you’re just interested in pretty pictures you’re more than welcome to scroll down toward the end of this article.

Elyn Hobby Kshatriya, what’s that?

It’s perhaps the most ambitious, and disastrous first model release from a company ever.

A few years back Elyn Hobby released a 1/100 scale model of the NZ-666 Kshatriya from Gundam Unicorn. A bootleg out of China, it was very hard to acquire both due to its price tag and, from what I’ve heard, legal action from Bandai preventing distribution outside of the country. It may be 1/100 in scale but it’s more of a Perfect Grade kit than a Master Grade. With well over 1300 pieces (if the guide is to be believed) the kit comes with photo etched metal details, metal stickers, regular ol’ decals, plenty of metal detailing parts, and an extensive LED system. read more

Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans Episode 8 – Turbine Hitsuyo!

Naze Turbine ain’t no mere playa. He not only has his own harem, but instead of wacky hijinks and personal crises on who does he love, polygamy is the name of his game. We know not yet why he does it, but somehow given the very copacetic atmosphere of his vessel and having kids with many different women, it works. All I could do though is wonder if, based on this new OP addition, they’re all gonna die. That’d be cruel, and given the fact that they have kids, that’d be VERY cruel. read more

Batman & Robin Eternal #6 Review

That awkward moment you realize you’re going to land in the wrong direction to pose on a ledge.

Dick gets tricked, Mother makes wives perfect, and the girls take a trip in this sixth issue in DC’s weekly Grayson supplmental… I mean, Batman weekly. This issue is 95 percent flashback, though maybe “flashback” isn’t exactly accurate, because Dick can’t possibly know all the things that Batman was experiencing and thinking when he wasn’t around. Whatever the case, the present mystery of Mother and the Orphan seems to point towards Prague, and after consulting Jason, Dick decides to bring Harper and Cass there with him, and that should be amusing for me and frustrating for Cass/Steph team-up fans, because Harper is Cass’ closest ally now. read more

Episode 05, “The Magician’s Left Hand”

*****SPOILERS*****

Synopsis: Lupin investigates Fujiko’s relationship with a young magician from a circus, Luca, who seems to have had fallen in love with her. Lupin is incredulous, as Fujiko’s motivations always involve a swindle, and becoming a knife-throwing act seems like a cover. What is Fujiko’s motivations for supporting the reserved young man whose burning desire is to become a great magician?
