Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - Episode 09 Review

In this episode, Edward faces his arch nemesis!

Synopsis: Edward regains consciousness in a hospital, scolded by Ross and Brosh for his recklessness. From there, he calls Winry to Central to repair his automail. Alphonse struggles with the implications of Barry the Chopper's words, eventually leading to a confrontation with Ed. Winry yells at him for doubting his brother's intentions, and the two make up on the roof, renewing their vow to keep going.

It sounded to me like nearly everyone took a step back in their performances this episode. I found a few things that annoyed me.

Episode 6, "Road of Hope"

Armstrong used Al Throw! It was super effective!

Synopsis: Edward and Alphonse head back to their hometown of Risembool, escorted by Alex Louis Armstrong. On their way, they meet Dr. Marcoh, a researcher into the military's own efforts to create the Philosopher's Stone, who gives Edward a hint as to where to find his research. In their hometown, Winry and Pinako work on a new automail arm for Ed and adjustments for his leg. They leave with the comfort of knowing they have a place to come back to.

Ahhh, just as the dub was improving!

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - Episode 04 Review

Episode 4, "An Alchemist's Distress" "Oh, hey. You're just in time for the HORRIBLE TRAGEDY."*****SPOILERS***** Synopsis: While a mysterious scarred man kills State Alchemists, Ed and Al are introduced to Shou Tucker, the "Life-Sewing Alchemist", an expert in chimeras, and his young daughter Nina. Edward researches, but takes time to play with Nina, as well. Tucker frets over his upcoming assessment, and makes a tragic decision leading to an abomination, much to the horror of the brothers. However, vengeance is metted out by the mysterious man. Comments: Huh. I've got to say, this was actually a pretty well dubbed episode. I was pleasantly surprised, actually. Vic Mignogna's Edward Elric comes dangerously close to competence in the key scene with Tucker and the chimera Nina. Maxey Whitehead's Alphonse is finally audible and does quite well.
