I got this incredibly expensive fucker in the mail today. I was worried I was going to be horribly let down but for the most part it’s incredibly impressive.

** Note – I have a terrible headache right now, so chances are this article is (even more so) poorly written and full of typos. My apologies. **

There are a few things I don’t like about it, and a few ‘wait, wha?’ bits. But first, pictures!

Iron Man Anime Episode 01 Review

American comic studio Marvel has teamed up Japanese anime production company Madhouse (Trigun, Paranoia Agent, Death Note, and Record of Lodoss War) to produce a 12 episode Iron Man anime miniseries. Unfortunately for them the series hasn’t generated much hype and the first episode is unlikely to win anyone over. Minor spoilers abound.

The Synopsis

The first episode of Iron Man seemingly laid the plot out for the entire series. It starts off with Tony Stark flying into Japan via personal jet with all the careful planning and gracefulness of a wayward bullet. He’s in town to flirt with the women, enjoy the food, and oversee the construction of Japan’s first arc reactor. What better place to start fulfilling his dream of world peace via free energy then a country that won’t use it for war? (No, really, that’s what they said. What a nice underhanded compliment.) read more

Episode 25, "Words of Farewell"

*****SPOILERS*****

Synopsis: Maes Hughes requests to meet with Doctor Marcoh, supposedly in the Fuhrer’s custody, about matters concerning the Fifth Laboratory. The brothers, along with Winry, leave Central on the train, but they admit to Winry that they’re not going to Dublith, fearing their teacher. They plan instead to catch up with Scar and the Ishbalans to see if there’s another way to make the Philosopher’s Stone. Meanwhile, at an Ishbalan camp, Scar’s master appears, concerned about his actions. Hughes works into the night doing research on the Ishbal war and the Philosopher’s Stone, discovering something suddenly involving the Fuhrer’s secretary, who calls with the news that Marcoh has arrived in Central.
