Episode 54, "Beyond The Raging Fire"

Synopsis: Riza tricks a Roy-disguised Envy into giving himself away, and fires at him repeatedly. He manages to gain the advantage over her, but Roy arrives and continues attacking him viciously with his flames. Envy’s body begins to decompose as his embryonic form tries to escape, but is trapped under Roy’s foot. Riza points her gun at the real Roy, however, refusing to let him surrender to his rage in revenge. Edward and Scar arrive, and Ed takes posession of Envy, with Roy threatening him. Ed, Scar, and Riza talk him down from his madness, which surprises Envy. Envy tries to rile them up against each other, but is unable to. Edward suggests that Envy is jealous of humans, of how they help each other and endure crises. Outraged and humiliated, Envy commits suicide. Meanwhile, the Armstrong siblings continue to fight Sloth, with Alex tricking Sloth into slamming his arm back into place, and then plummeling him repeatedly and using his alchemy. The Briggs troops attack the front gate, leading the commander in charge to order firing at the unevacuated areas, but before he can complete the command, Buccaneer arrives to stop him, as does Falman, and Izumi Curtis. Deep underground, Hohenheim confronts Father, formerly the Dwarf in the Flask. read more

Episode 04 – “Tama (Sphere)”

Spoilers Ahead

Summary: Episode 04, if you couldn’t tell by the name is about a giant sphere rolling through Center City, threatening to roll-over and destroy the gym where the civilians have taken refuge.

Before this though you see Will and Nick venture into the Skrugg’s base, only to get their asses captured. Who knows what is going to happen with them.

Shin Mazinger Shougeki! Z-Hen – Episode 25 Review

Episode 25, "Reversal! The Sun Sets on Bardos Island!"

Synopsis: With the Photon Power Labs destroyed, Dr. Hell orders his subordinates to take the Japanium ore. The Mazinger Corps seemingly falls in battle with the Mechanical Beasts. God Scrander arrives and Kouji gains the advantage, destroying the enemies around him. The Kurogane Five find that Tsubasa is missing and Akokuji has escaped from his prison. Yasu steps up to defend the house from Baron Ashura, but discovers the bomb in him has been taken by Tsubasa. Boss, in the Boss Borot tries his best to fight Ashura, with the support of Django. The Boss Borot plows into Ashura and explodes. Sayaka’s dead emerges from the ruins of the labs with several Pygmans walking towards him, but Sayaka arrives. Pygman attacks but is attacked himself by Akokuji, Gamia, and a figure called Blade, who seemingly kills Pygman. Tsubasa wriggles free from a fake Kenzo and demands the real one appear. She prepares to destroy him with Yasu’s bomb, but he requests to be heard before she does so. The Mazinger attacks Count Brocken and he gets into his own mecha. Duke Gorgon appears before Ashura, but the Goul airship falls on him. Dr. Hell’s Bardos Island itself arrives, but the scientists reveal a Photon Power-powered battle fortress. The Mazinger Corps rallies, their escape crafts combining with backup mecha and they attack Bardos Island. Dr. Hell comes out in his mecha, King of Hell. read more

Episode 10, "Seperate Ways"

Synopsis: Edward describes his experiences at Laboratory 5 to Major Armstrong and Lt. Colonel Hughes. Fuhrer King Bradley visits and warns the group not to investigate any further. The brothers get on a train to Dublith, to go see their alchemy teacher, though the thought of it frightens them. While reading the paper, Hughes is inspired to do some research into the massacres around the country, but is confronted by Lust. Hughes tries to contact Roy via an outside pay phone, but is killed by Envy, in disguise as Maria Ross. After Hughes’ funeral, Roy begins investigating his death, vowing to find his killers. read more

Dragon Ball Kai – Episode 52 Review

Episode 52, "Two Remain on a Vanishing Planet! This is the Final Showdown", or "Cut Me A Slice, Put It In The Freeza"

Synopsis: Gohan and Bulma find themselves back on Earth, along with Piccolo, Vegeta, and the ressurected Namekians. Back on Namek, Goku and Freeza face off again, exchanging blows that tear up the ground and buildings. Freeza throws a large ball of ki which Goku holds back and punches into the sky. On Earth, Saichoro begins to relate the recent happenings to everyone. The battle continues between Goku and Freeza as Gohan is concerned for the safety of his father. Piccolo assures Gohan that Goku will be fine. The body blows intensify in the fight as Kaio watches from his planet. An exhausted Freeza finds it increasingly difficult to keep up with Goku’s speed and is hit hard in the gut. As they face off again, Freeza is stunned when Goku declares he quits the fight. Goku says that the fight is over, that Freeza has been humiliated and he’s satisfied with that. Freeza is enraged and as Goku flies off, he attacks with his own homing Kienzan attack, which Goku tries his best to avoid. Freeza creates a second disc, but Goku avoids them as well, attacking Freeza again. Freeza tries to recover, but is cut in half by his own Kienzan. read more

Episode 53, "The Flames of Revenge"

Synopsis: Citizens around Amestris tune into Radio Capital, a station in Central where several Mustang’s subordinates are at as the Fuhrer’s wife is being interviewed about the attempt on her life. Mustang’s group uses this to gain support of their countrymen, who believe that a coup has been started to overthrow Bradley and Mustang and his group are defending the status quo. Hearing Maria Ross on the program, Denny Brosh realizes that she’s still alive. The Central command officers are surprised to see tanks attacking HQ. Meanwhile, underground, Roy and Riza arrive to help Ed’s group and Roy easily dispatches several homunculi zombies with his flames. Mei and Envy, the latter chasing the former, end up in the same room, where Envy sees the unlikely partnership between State Alchemists and Scar and comments on it. Roy demands to know who killed Maes Hughes and Envy eventually admits to it, showing him how he transformed into Hughes’ wife to catch him off guard. Roy tells Ed, Scar, and the others to go ahead, as he will handle Envy on his own. Roy easily injures Envy repeatedly using his flame alchemy, even when Envy transforms into his larger form. Envy slips away and tries disguising himself as Hughes, but Roy doesn’t fall for it. Having been separated during the fight, Roy and Riza reunite, but Riza points her gun at Roy. read more

Episode 03 – “Invasion”

Summary: The Skrugg have invaded Central City. The police and army are no opposition for the Skrugg and their tough exterior exo-skeletons. The Skrugg’s mother ship extends its roots on and into the Earth, essentially allowing the broadcast of their signal through the air, TV, and computers.

Joey and Psy head off to make sure Joey’s grandmother is okay and on the way they encounter a group of Skrugg. As expected, Joey summons Heroman, who once again kicks some serious ass. In typical shonen fashion, Heroman becomes overpowered by the amount of Skrugg and must use a new power in order to overcome them. read more

Alphonse struggles with the implications of Barry the Chopper’s words, eventually leading to a confrontation with Ed. Winry yells at him for doubting his brother’s intentions, and the two make up on the roof, renewing their vow to keep going.

Episode 52, "Combined Powers"

Synopsis: Using the Philosopher’s Stone, Alphonse battles Pride and Kimbley. Kimbley is impressed, but is curious as to why Alphonse hasn’t used the stone to retrieve his body. Alphonse claims that the possibility exists to save everyone and regain his body. Kimbley argues that it’s possible that neither will occur, and attacks using his own, refined stone. In Central, the Armstrong siblings take on Sloth, who proves to be the fastest of the homunculi. Pride seemingly gains the advantage against Alphonse, but it turns out to be a trap. Heinkel comes from behind Kimbley and bites his neck. Edward, Scar, and the other chimera continue to fight the homunculi army, who try disabling them by taking out their legs. As Pride taunts Alphonse and his group, a car comes out of nowhere and hits him. The car is driven by none other than Yoki, who helps the others escape. Alone with a dying Kimbley, Pride decides to devour him like he did with Gluttony. Back at Central HQ, the troops who corner Olivier are attacked by the homunculi army and she tells them to make a choice between dying or making a stand. Beneath Central, Envy chases Mei. In the room where Ed and the others are, they are beginning to get overwhelmed, but Roy and Riza arrive. read more

Episode 51, "Goku’s Furious Battle Cry! Make it in Time… The Resurrection Wish!"

Synopsis: Goku fires a Kamehameha at Freeza, which Freeza avoids. Freeza then burrows Goku deep into a lava pit, claiming victory. Not detecting his father’s ki anymore, Gohan decides to go defeat Freeza on his own, against Bulma’s pleas. Namekians find themselves alive again, as does Vegeta, having been wished back by Shenlong on Earth. Kaio contacts Saichoro, who has also come back. Gohan arrives where Freeza is at, and challenges him, but despite his best efforts doesn’t seem a match. Freeza realizes that he’s stalling for time, but before he can retaliate, Goku emerges from the water and tells Gohan to leave. Goku is enraged when Freeza mentions Kuririn, and the two resume their battle. Kaio tells Saichoro to make a wish on Porunga to transport everyone but Freeza to the planet to Earth, but Goku cuts in and demands that he be left behind, too, to finish the battle. Saichoro contacts Dende to make the wish, and Dende flies to where Porunga is. Freeza notices the dragon and flies towards it to make his wish, but as the wish must be made in the Namekian tongue, is unable to, while Dende is. Vegeta makes an appearance before being suddenly teleported away with everyone else. Goku and Freeza decide to finish things with a body blow fight. read more
