Voice Actor Comparison: Gundam – Char Aznable

Original Video – More videos at TinyPic
My pick: Shuichi Ikeda
Reasoning: Ikeda clearly does the most arresting, charismatic-sounding Char, a Char that fits every facet of his complex personality. Michael Kopsa is my favorite English dub Char, sounding noticably serious and determined, but with a touch of charm. Blum makes him sound a little too laid back and his delivery is way off in that particular dub and Edwards just sounds generic and has a wooden delivery. This isn’t just some guy, it’s Char Aznable! Well, at least Edwards is one of the more tolerable cast members of that terrible Zeta Gundam dub.

PG Strike Freedom WIP 06: Golden Boy

| On Flickr

I’ve finally found the time to put in some work on my SF. I painted most of the frame a proper shade of gold. I left the old arms on there to demonstrate the difference in color.

Sadly though, before I could work on the arms or other pieces, I ran out of gold paint. I did start on the rest of the kit although it turns out I’m missing a shit load of sticky tack. (For keeping the pieces on picks during painting) That or there are just so many pieces to this bloody kit. read more

Dragon Ball Kai – Episode 76

Episode 76, "Tenshinhan’s Do-or-Die Shin Kikoho! Save Your Brother-in-Arms, Son Goku"

*****SPOILERS*****

Synopsis: Tenshinhan continues firing Shin Kikoho at Cell, knocking him back into a hole made by the blast. Artificial Human 18 helps 16 up and they escape from the island. Eventually Tenshinhan runs out of energy and falls to the ground. Cell emerges from the crater, angry. He kicks Tenshinhan. Goku uses his teleportation technique to appear between Cell and Tenshinhan. He admits that he’s no match for Cell, but tells him to wait a day and he will be able to defeat him. Suddenly Goku detects Piccolo’s ki. He pulls Piccolo out of the water and teleports both of his allies away to Kami’s palace before Cell can hit him. Cell flies off to find 18. Kuririn meets with Bulma in the air and she gives him the shut off controller. But she instructs him that he has to be close by to use it. Kuririn takes controller and heads back as Bulma flies her jet to Kami’s palace. Piccolo and Tenshinhan recover thanks to senzu. Vegeta and Trunks emerge from the Room of Spirit and Time. Vegeta is supremely confident he can destroy Cell and the other Artificial Humans himself. Bulma arrives and gives special Saiyan-style armor to Vegeta and the others (Piccolo and Tenshinhan turn it down). Vegeta flies off to find Cell and Trunks follows after getting two senzu from Goku. Cell searches for 18 among the nearby islands, screaming out to her that he will destroy each island one by one until she appears. From where they’re hiding,16 assures 18 that Cell will not destroy her, as he desires to reach his ultimate form. To prove his point, Cell destroys an island. read more

Videos from the 2011 Washington Auto Show

While at the 2011 Washington Auto Show this past weekend I took a couple videos with my S95. They turned out alright, not nearly as good as I would’ve liked. Apparently the camera has trouble focusing when the object is 5 feet away.

Make sure to watching in HD for the best possible quality.

The first is a compilation of a few of the featured (as in the auto manufacturers thought they should be spinning around) vehicles at the show.

Voice Actor Comparison: Patlabor – Noa Izumi

Original Video – More videos at TinyPic
My pick: Miina Tominaga
Reasoning: Tominaga’s Noa Izumi isn’t just spirited, but also fierce-sounding when she needs to be. She gives Noa a fitting tomboyish edge, too. My favorite English voice for the character is Elisa Wain from the dub of the OVAs and TV series. She also has a spirited voice for the character, but her acting isn’t quite on par with Tominaga or some of the others, like Ruff or Taylor. However, in some ways it serves Noa because she is such an oddball in some ways. I am curious as to where Michelle Ruff would have taken the role if she had more lines.
