Episode 71, "Attack the Elusive Cell! Son Goku is Finally Revived!", or "The Reviewer Attempts Not One, But Two Jokes"
*****SPOILERS*****
Synopsis: Vegeta angrily dismisses Piccolo’s desire to stop Cell before he absorbs 17 and 18, insisting he can surpass even his current Super Saiyan level, and flies off. Voice Actor Comparison: Fullmetal Alchemist – Roy Mustang
Something a bit less controversial:
Voice Actor Comparison: Fullmetal Alchemist – Greed (EDITED)
NOTE: My samefag sense is tingling. I’m closing the comments. It’s pretty sad that somebody has to post as different people to pretend to be a majority. Especially when they don’t change their rhetoric or writing style. I was born at night, but not last night.
Audio: English – My Philosophy
With the Audio:English series, PenguinTruth takes a critical look at the English
dubs which grace some of anime’s most defining series in North America.
I’ve done a few of these articles on English dubs for anime, and I’ve discussed at great length specific anime dubs I’ve liked or disliked. However, I haven’t really explained what it is I look for in an anime dub, what I think of English dubs for anime in general, or anything of that sort. Because of this, people may misunderstand some of my views on them. So I’d like to dedicate this particular entry to laying out what it is I expect from the anime dubs I listen to, when I listen to them.
Anime Moment: Patlabor TV – A Letter To Gotoh
I’m not normally a big fan of the English dub for this, but this scene was done just right.
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood – Episode 28 ENGLISH DUB Review
Episode 28, "Father"
*****SPOILERS*****
Synopsis: Alphonse arrives at Father’s lair, and is surprised by the appearance of the homunculi’s creator. Suddenly, Gluttony bursts, and out of of his fake gate emerges Edward, Ling, and Envy. Father questions the brothers, interested that Hohenheim has sons, and heals the damage to them without so much as bringing his hands together. Ling tells the brothers that he’s not normal, and Father tells Gluttony to eat him, as he is not a sacrifice. Ed and Al try to combat Father, but he disables their alchemy, and they are subdued by Envy. Ling is likewise subdued by Gluttony. Father, seeing Ling’s determination, decides he will use him as a pawn, and, using a bit of Philosopher’s Stone that comes from his body, transforms him into the new Greed. Ling accepts the spirit of Greed for his chance at immortality, and the new Greed inhabits his body. However, the new Greed has no memories of its previous incarnation. Scar and Mei arrive, with Mei and Xaio Mei reuniting. Scar’s destructive alchemy and Mei’s Eastern alchemy somehow remains working, and they attack Father and his minions, however Scar’s destructive arm does no harm to Father himself. Scar, Mei, and Alphonse attempt an escape, and Scar disappears, but Alphonse is taken back into custody. Ed is subdued by the new Greed. Father orders the brothers to be taken to Wrath on the surface.
Progress!
OtakuRevolution.net is on its way back! Earlier this week, I got the domain working again (seems I missed a step on the host side), and tonight I’ve re-uploaded the first few strips – my ever-sporadic Halloween specials.
